Ada's and Science is Weird are proud to bring you Science and Beer: Why do Coluds Float

Why do clouds float?

Nothing seems more ordinary than a cloud — and yet, if we start asking questions, we realize how strange they are:

Why are they white?

Are they heavy or light?

Are they solid, liquid, or gas?

And — most troublesome of all — what’s keeping them up?

Inspired by Maria Mudd Ruth’s excellent book on cloud physics, A Sideways Look at Clouds, this hour-long event is a non-linear, all-brains-on-deck science game for adults — and especially for those who wished we better remembered what we learned in school!
